Fire Department

Please join us for fire training held on the first Sunday of each month. The next training is August 6th at the Upper Firehouse from 9-12 noon. September training will be September 10th at the lower firehouse (because of Labor Day). We hope to see all our volunteers at these trainings as they are required by CDF to maintain our accreditation as a fire department. FIRE CALLS- With all the very warm weather, please keep an eye out for your elderly neighbors and ones that live alone. We thank everyone who has helped on the fire calls.

Fire Department Annual Appeal for Funds

This is our annual appeal for funds to support the fire department. This year we have a pressing need to reroof our upper firehouse Anyone who attended our holiday party last year at the upper fireshouse may remember the many leaks and water damage. The roof will not survive another year. The cost to replace the roof is approximately $6,000 SO PLEASE DONATE for this special purpose ( we recommend $100 per parcel if you are able). Remember donations are tax deductible and many companies has matching grants for non profit groups. Please check to see if your company does this.we are also working on a fund raiser for an automatic defibrillator for our EMT to use. This could save a life so please consider donating for this cause.
We are a volunteer organization that has a strong track record as first responoders to fires and health emergencies in our remote area. We desperately need your support to stay in existence. We urge all property oweners, whether or not you live here, to donate to CLVFA.

Please send all donations to: CLVFA PO BOx 601 Redwood Estates, Ca. 95044-0601 We are a non-profit organization. We will have a raffle and community board of items neighbors may want to sell and give the proceeds to CLVFA at the next BBQ.

Fire Safety

If you have a fire extinquisher, or Barricade fire retardant gel, make sure to shake it every 6 months to unclump the ingredients. Extinguishers also need to be serviced regularly-yearly is recommended. Call Kylee Vicha for pampflets on ways to make your house defensible. 30-100 feet should be cleared around the house with no fire ladders from trees, shrubs to the house. MAKE sure your address is displayed properly on the road so the emergency crews can find you.
